Arrival at Ein Gedi

Distances
* Ben-Gurion International Airport – Ein-Gedi: 129km/81 miles
* Ben-Gurion International Airport – Tel-Aviv: 17km/11 miles
* Ben-Gurion International Airport – Jerusalem: 47km/29 miles
* Tel Aviv – Ein-Gedi: 143km/89 miles
* Jerusalem – Ein-Gedi: 83km/52miles

Ein Gedi is located about 2 hours drive (in a car) from Ben Gurion airport.
Because of the complexity of getting to Ein Gedi by public transportation, this is not a recommended option (there is no direct train and by bus it is too complicated).
A private taxi from the airport to Ein Gedi should costs about NIS 900.
The conference production will do its best to coordinate the arrival times of the people coming from the airport and to arrange shared transportation to the venue.

Electricity

The Israeli power supply is single phase 220 volts at 50 Hertz. Most power sockets in Israel have three pin holes, but many of them will work with double-pin European plugs. Visitors who want to use shavers, traveling irons and other small appliances may need both transformers and adaptor plugs.

Currency / Exchange

The currency unit in Israel is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS – “Shekel” in short). International credit cards are accepted for payment in most hotels, restaurants and shops. Exchange offices and ATM machines are easily available throughout the city and at Ben-Gurion International Airport. We recommend that you change some of your money at the airport for immediate needs.
